DriveNote: Mileage Tracker

                Summary: DriveNote stores trip data on your device and, if you sign in, in cloud storage associated with your account. We use your data to provide trip tracking, sync, diagnostics, and optional analytics. You can manage your privacy choices in the app and delete your account and data at any time.

3. How We Use Your Data

Detect, record, and display your driving trips
Calculate mileage, duration, speed, and route history
Sync your data across devices when signed in
Provide account management and support
Maintain app stability and fix crashes (when enabled)
Measure app usage and improve features (when enabled)

4. Legal Bases (EEA/UK Users)

Contract performance: core trip tracking, local storage, sign-in, sync, and account management
Legitimate interests: app security, abuse prevention, service reliability
Consent: optional analytics and crash diagnostics, manageable through the app's privacy settings

5. Location and Motion Data

DriveNote uses GPS and motion data to detect and record trips in the background. Route coordinates, timestamps, and speed are stored as part of your trip data.

We do not sell your location data. You can control location permissions through your device settings.

6. Account and Cloud Sync

If you sign in with Google, your trip data syncs to Firebase Firestore under your account. Anonymous sign-in keeps data local only.

7. Analytics and Crash Reporting

DriveNote uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics. In regions where consent is required, these services are disabled until you opt in through the app's privacy settings. You can change your choices at any time.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. Data is shared only with:

Firebase: for sync, auth, crash reporting, and analytics as described above
You: when you export trips as CSV or PDF

9. Data Retention

Local data: stored until you delete it or uninstall the app
Cloud data: stored until you delete your account
Crash reports: retained by Firebase Crashlytics for up to 90 days

10. Your Rights

Access: view all trip data in the app
Export: download as CSV or PDF anytime
Delete: remove individual trips or delete your entire account
Consent: manage analytics and crash reporting in Settings → Privacy
Portability: export your data in standard formats

11. Account and Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data from Settings → Account → Delete account & data. See our deletion page for details.

12. International Transfers

Firebase services may process data outside your country. Google provides safeguards for international transfers as described in their privacy documentation.

13. Children's Privacy

DriveNote is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes may trigger a re-consent prompt in the app.
